EL driver is a specialized power conversion device designed to drive electroluminescent (EL) devices by converting power supply conditions into alternating current (AC) parameters suitable for EL material excitation. It enables the luminous materials within EL devices to emit light through tailored electrical energy conversion.
EL drivers are primarily categorized into two types: EL wire drivers and EL panel drivers, differing mainly in their operating frequencies. Key considerations when selecting an appropriate EL driver include:
- Input Voltage: Dependent on the power supply environment of the application (e.g., automotive interiors typically use DC 12V, requiring an EL driver with DC 12V input).
- Luminous Power: Determined by the application’s power requirements (e.g., EL wire length or panel area). Common EL wire driver models are available for lengths of 3m, 5m, 15m, 50m, 100m, and 200m.
- Lighting Mode: EL devices support various modes such as constant on, blinking (slow/fast), trailing light (light chasing), gradient transitions, and customized remote control (via Bluetooth or wireless).
The output range of an EL driver typically spans 800–150V for voltage and 800–2000Hz for frequency.
